Hot Box Guitar Club
A free Sunday song circle for guitarists of all abilities, run by Tom Peplow. It’s a relaxed way to meet other guitarists, share songs and play together, whether you’ve been playing for a few weeks or a few decades.
How it works
Guitar Club is a song circle: everyone sits together and takes turns to lead a song, with the rest of the circle joining in, listening or picking up something new. Bring your guitar and a song or two you’d like to share. There’s no stage and no pressure, and all abilities are genuinely welcome.
Make an afternoon of it
Guitar Club runs earlier on the same Sunday as the Hot Box Blues Jam, so you can stay on afterwards, grab a drink and either listen or plug in and play.

Getting here
Hot Box Live is under the railway arches at 28-29 Viaduct Road, Chelmsford (CM1 1TS), a 2-minute walk from Chelmsford train station. If you’re driving, parking on Viaduct Road is free after 5pm, and the NCP car park at Chelmsford station (right behind us) and Fairfield Road car park are both close by.
The ground floor is step-free, including the main room, the bar and an accessible toilet. We take cash, all major cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
