BIRTHDAY GIRL / SEI STILL
Part English/ part Swedish all out alternative wild men performers, this band are here for a solid earth shaking show. They have previously been played by KEXP and 6music‘s finest Iggy Pop and have extensively toured Europe and played many festivals. Their sound is a mixture of psych, shoegaze, krautrock and all out noise to create some abrasive backing for compositions with intricate harmonies. Last year alone they toured with Glasvegas, Frankie and the Witch fingers and Cocaine Piss. Join us for this gig at the venue with Tickets from Dice and SeeTickets. Doors at 7.
“This Swedish / English band isn’t exactly beating around the bush. Single “I Came Here To Eat” is one ravenous piece of proto punk racket, with a guitar riff that sucks in all matter like a big black hole. Such a chilling, uncanny sound doesn’t go unnoticed for long. Iggy Pop is already a big fan of Birthday Girl and the KEXP platform have also confessed a twisted love for this blood-red monster of rock and roll. Just act casual when the Grim Reaper puts his household duties aside for a moment at the front row.” – LEFT OF THE DIAL FESTIVAL
Sei Still support tonight from Mexico via Berlin. The group are comprised of Lucas Martin (Guitar/Vocals), Mateo Sanchez (Guitar/Vocals) and Andres Lupone (Bass/Vocals) Sebastian Rojas (Synth/Organ) and Jeronimo Martin (Drums). They met in Mexico and created their first material in secluded woodland. Influenced by the Krautrock scene. The band supported Stereolab, Kikagaku Moyo, Holy Wave, Institute, New Candys, 10 000 Russos and Lorelle Meets the Obsolete. They are signed to the superb Fuzz Club and are embarking on their first ever UK tour. Tonight is one hell of a double bill tickets in advance are thoroughly recommended.
